HI Adam. 包子 was talking about 畅游. I said 畅游 is cute because he was advising us to have more water to driink. it may do some help to our health. 包子 thought it was a pity that畅游 is not a girl. i guess he is hunting for a girl who is thoughtful to take care of his life.

TO adam,
i wonder if it is right to say" i don't want no more" what does it mean exactly? what's the different from " i don't want anymore"? thanks in advance!!!:)

It isn't right to say "I don't want no more," but some Americans like to use incorrect grammar when they speak. They will also say things like "I didn't do nothing" and "I could care less," which doesn't make sense unless you realise that their grammar is wrong.

maggiexs 发表于 2007-1-25 14:19:51

ha~~~some American said so~~~~~ 2 or 3 boys were enjoying the sunshine by the side of a lake in a summer's afternoon. one of them said" oh~that is life. i don't want no more...." i ever heard some american said " it don't matter" I think it doesn't matter cause i can understand what they meant.

But i would like to know something more. when i'm enjoying the life can i say " that's the life. i don't want anymore"? u can see the potential meaning is "it will be better if i can get more" we can say in chinese"这才是生活,我不奢求更多了"潜意思就是"这个状态我就满足了,但是如果给我更好的我将更开心".
But let's see another case. I ate too much and felt uncomfortable. I said" that's enough. i dont' want anymore". the potential meaning changes to " it will be terrible if i have more. i cannot afford it". 我吃太饱了,再也不想吃了,如果给我更多,对我来说是痛苦.
Adam, could u understand what i mean? i just wanna know if i can express in a same way " i don't want anymore"in these two different conditions?

i ever heard a song " i just don't love u no more" by crag. maybe americans speak english in that casual way. haha~~~i'm too critical a lady am i?
